Jewelry Making Class - Cabochon Cutting & Wax Carving
Jewelry Making Class - Cabochon Cutting & Wax Carving
Join us for a hands-on jewelry making adventure, where you'll cut your own cabochon and hand-carve a pendant or ring from wax. This course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of crafting cabochon jewelry. With personalized guidance from our professional jewelers, you'll enjoy a truly one-on-one experience. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills to create jewelry on your own. Plus, you'll have the option to continue casting your designs through our services once you’ve completed the class.
During the first hour of your reservation, you’ll select the stone you wish to cut from our diverse collection, featuring stones sourced from various locations, including Colorado. Then, you’ll receive expert guidance on the cabochon cutting. After completing your stone, you'll move to a wax station where you'll learn basic wax carving techniques to finish your pendant or ring. We will provide a dedicated wax carving station for each participant, allowing you to take your time with this step. Each person will have approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete their carving. If you find yourself short on time and need a few extra hours to complete your ring or pendant, don’t worry! We’ll be happy to schedule a complimentary follow-up appointment for you on one of our future dates.
Once your ring or pendant has been carved, simply hand it over to us for casting, polishing, and stone setting. Please allow one week for this process to be completed. After that week, you can either pick up your finished item or have it mailed to your residence. If you prefer to return to polish and set your own stone, just let us know, and we can schedule a future appointment. This additional class is available for $100 and will be offered at the conclusion of your first class.
The class fee includes comprehensive instruction and all necessary supplies, along with up to 10 grams of .925 silver. Any additional .925 silver added to your piece will incur a charge of $4.00 per gram, payable at the time of pickup. If you prefer gold, 14k is available for $100.00 per gram, also due upon pickup. Please note that these fees are separate and not eligible for promotional coupons. On average, pendants and rings weigh between 6 and 8 grams.
We will set up and take down all equipment for this class on the day of the event. Therefore, we kindly request a 48-hour cancellation notice. Thank you for your understanding!
